Analytics
The Analytics SIG will work on a strategic solution and knowledge base for implementing web analytics at Texas A&M University. Our goal is to provide every college with access to web analytics that is housed under one platform for data analysis.
One of the main deliverables for the analytics sub-committee is to create and bring as many Texas A&M entities as possible into a global TAMU Google Analytics tag. The main benefits of doing this are:
- Creates a system wide view of all *.tamu.edu traffic, where we can visualize traffic between subdomain sites.
- Gives you the ability to compare your site’s traffic to others and see where exactly visitors are coming and going to.
- Allows us to create high level dashboards to provide data to you and your leaders that show where your conversions are coming from.
Below are some sources to start you in the right direction. Keep in mind, that if set up correctly, your unit’s current Google Analytics will not be disturbed or corrupted in any way.
